SILIPLAS 2073 masterbatch maintains excellent and stable noise reduction performance throughout the entire service life of the component. Test results demonstrate that at a low loading level (4 wt%), the RPN (Risk Priority Number) value is less than 3, indicating no long-term noise risk.

Furthermore, SILIPLAS 2073 masterbatch achieves an extremely low number of stick-slip events, indicating minimal occurrence of this friction-induced phenomenon during noise testing. Stick-slip, caused by friction between component surfaces, is a common source of noise. Compared to unmodified, pure PC/ABS blends, this masterbatch significantly reduces the stick-slip count.

 

Preserves Key Resin Properties

SILIPLAS 2073 masterbatch does not negatively impact the crucial mechanical properties of PC/ABS resins. Impact resistance at room temperature is comparable to that of pure PC/ABS resin, while tensile modulus, tensile strength, and elongation at break remain at high levels. Traditional noise reduction solutions often involve post-processing steps like applying anti-squeak felts, lubricants, or coatings, or replacing PC/ABS with specialized quiet resins. These post-treatments add time, cost, and complexity to the production process, can limit design freedom, and may only be feasible on simplified part geometries. Additionally, lubricants can deplete over time. Anti-squeak coatings often require manual application and post-curing, can be impact-sensitive, may develop micro-cracks that compromise performance, and can cost twice as much as standard PC/ABS.
